BIGFOOT SIGHTING

This morning I finally took Dom to the doctor because now he has a horrible sounding cough on top of the stuffy nose. He also was a bit weezing sounding after playing on tummy time. They gave him a nebulizer treatment and sent us home with his own spacer and albuterol. Poor guy! Even with being sick he's still so good. He tries to scream and make sounds but they come out really weak since his voice has gone with the cold. The nurses at the hospital thought he should be a baby model since he's so handsome and one even thought he was a girl, which is common. I guess it's those long eyelashes that throws them off.
Anyhow, the point of this post is to show you how big Dom's feet really are. They are the size of Juan's cell phone as you can see in the pics. It's no wonder he needs 12 month old socks. The doc said he had big feet when he was still in my stomach and he was right.
Other than that, just cleaning the house. I will probably stay home today since Domzilla is sick and it's pretty windy outside. Tomorrow I will tackle the grocery shopping when it's less busy since most people work Mondays. The store is just a huge nightmare on Sundays so I avoid it when I can. Oh, and for those of you who don't know, my Little Bro and his wife, Alicia are expecting their first little one. He or she will be due on Mother's Day. I'm excited to find out what it will be. I'm hoping for a little girl so I can buy dresses, but I know Alicia wants a boy. We'll find out soon enough and then it's off to the store to look at dresses.=0)

HMMM.....

Well, I guess small stuff has happened around here but for some reason I am feeling irritable this evening. I'm not really sure why I feel like this, but I do. Maybe it's because I had to get up earlier than normal this morning for a work thing, or it could be that I at a bunch of super greasy hotwings for dinner, or lastly, it could be that the Army screwed up my pay so it's short and who knows how long it will take them to reimburse me. It's probably more of the last one as money is what pays the bills and the bill collectors don't give a crap whether or not your paycheck gets screwed up. Mmmm... good thing I have a little money saved up so I should make it.

Dominik caught his first cold a couple days ago so his nose is really stuffy and he's not too happy about it. He has trouble eating as he can't breathe through his nose. I've been giving him some Little Colds medicine and it really seems to help so hopefully he'll feel better soon. He's also just 1 small step away from crawling all over the place. He picks his butt up and pushes himself forward so he should get the hang of it in no time.
What else..... I guess that's all I can think of right now. Guess I'll go rest my overfilled self on the couch now. I'm sure that will burn a few calories. (yeah right)

HIGHCHAIR FUN

Dominik has a sudden facsination with turning around in his highchair so he can grab the bear that is on the chair cover. This makes eating food a bit messy as he is constantly moving around. To prove this point, I have posted pics showing the little offender. =0) If you look closely you will see sweet potatoes with corn not only on his face, but on his sleeve and chest area as well. I'm sure it will only get better. Oh also, Dom will be 7 months old tomorrow. He sure is growing fast. His 2 top teeth are probably half way through so he has these little gopher teeth; it's pretty cute. The bottom ones are just poking through, but still have a ways to go.
I made it through last week's annual meeting without hurting anyone, so I guess that's good news. My unit accidentally promoted me as I think I said before but now they sent a check full of back pay to my bank and of course I can't spend it because they will want it back once my promotion gets revoked. I sure wish I could keep that money, it's a nice chunk. Hopefully this whole thing didn't mess with my normally scheduled paycheck. It's usually posted on our army pay website by now, but it's not yet. Hopefully it will be soon or else I don't know how we will pay rent and make the car payment. People are always messing up some kind of paperwork I swear.
Well, today is just a lazy day since it's cold and gloomy out. I did go to church this morning though so I did do one productive thing. Mmmm.... guess I will go relax now (again). My legs are a bit sore from that 5K race I did yesterday. It was fun though and I got some exercise out of it.

I'M A SLACKER!

I know I haven't done a post in awhile so here is a picture free one. I have been busy with annual meetings at work so I haven't had much computer time. I have some new pics of my little man that I will try and post soon.
So let me start by complaining. This whole time I have been told at Counterdrug that I'm not getting promoted because of the budget. Well, 1 guy got a job with the FBI so that opens up his SSG pay right there. Now the Sergeant Major is telling me that he can't justify making my current position a SSG slot because I don't do enough or have enough responsibility or some crap. I really don't think these people realize how much I do around here plus, I have asked to be moved to an outside office or I at least want more work in the office. Do you think I got a response on either idea?? NO. Well, I am turning in my packet tomorrow for that job I really want since I have finally completed it. Please, everyone who does pray, pray for me to do well on the interview so I can get this job and get my promotion that I should have had since April. I would appreciate good thoughts on this from everyone.
Now to Little Dom, I thought he was only getting 1 tooth on the bottom right now because you can finally see it poking through the gums. Well, dad was playing with him and we saw one poking through the top too. It looks like he's getting all 4 at once the poor guy. He's still being a really good boy through it all, but you can tell that his gums are bothering him. He hates orajel so getting it on his gums involves some well-timed finger acrobatics to get it on there. Plus, I don't think he likes the flavor very much. We started feeding him the baby food that has meat flavors now and he is really a big fan of those. I think I will have to buy him a new car seat next month because he is getting too long for his current one. If anyone has a suggestion on a good car seat that starts rear facing and then can be turned front facing when Dom turns 1, please let me know.
Well, guess I will get ready for the annual meetings again. They are sooo boring!

Full of Smiles

I took these pics a couple days ago. Dominik was really smiling and screaming when I pulled the camera out. I guess he felt like being a star this time; usually he quits smiling and just stares at you when you pull out the camera. He looks drunk in one of them though, so I thought it was funny.
I took my first fitness test this morning since getting prego. I was sure I could pass it since I have been working out like crazy, but I ended up doing even better than I thought I would. This is good because I need a PT test to submit with my application for that job I want. Speaking of that job, they actually opened it up a couple days ago out of nowhere. Some big wig made them advertise it before January like it was supposed to be, so it works out great for me. I will turn in my packet next week and then interviews will be the middle of Oct. Hopefully there won't be any really good competition. I have learned a bunch of new systems lately so I will be smarter than everyone else. Ha!!! Tomorrow I have to be at drill at 6 am. Yuck!! We are going out to the desert to do some medic training like the litter obstacle course. This means we have to carry a patient on a litter through barb wire and over walls and through ditches and stuff. It's going to be so tiring.
OH, back to Lil Dom. He is now a serious professional at rolling from back to tummy. That's all he wants to do now and he is slowly figuring out how to crawl so it won't be long now. The tummy thing is becoming crazy though. The second you put him to bed, he rolls onto his tummy and that's the only way he will go to sleep now. I know babies aren't supposed to sleep on their tummy, but I don't think I can do anything about it. He does it automatically and when he wakes up to eat or whatever, he's in his crib doing tummy time screaming. I won't give him a blanket in his crib because I'm worried he may smother himself or something. I don't know why he likes to sleep that way now.
Well, guess I better get some rest. Oh, and the new fridge works great!

Anniversary

So last weekend Juan and I celebrated our 1st anniversary. Like I said, we went to Jackpot and that is one of the unluckiest places ever! We spent $120 between the two of us and didn't even win a dollar. Those slots are ridiculous. Needless to say, we didn't gamble for very long. The big highlights of our trip were our hotel room and our dinner. We rented the hot tub suite so we had a huge room. It had a bar, huge granite hottub, and a king size bed. I must say that the dinner we ate was worth the drive. I had the prime rib (best cut I've ever eaten) and Juan had the roast duck. They were both so good, even the sides we got with dinner were delicious. I had asparagus and these sweet potato dumpling things. I wish I knew how to make them because I could eat a whole bowl of them. For dessert we had strawberry cheesecake. We were so full by the end of it, we both could have used a wheelchair. They also threw in 2 choc covered strawberries and they were so good that we ordered a dozen more. MMmmm... I want some right now. As you can see, I didn't watch what I ate that weekend!
We met Grandma Rosa in Nampa so we could pick up our little angel. He had on a cute little outfit with a fishing style hat and brown boots. He looked so grown up and I didn't even get a picture of it dang it! Juan and I were really excited to see him since it had been 3 days, but he didn't seem to care. I guess it doesn't matter to him who's around as long as he gets attention and food. Oh well, he gave us some big smiles later that day anyways.
Oh and in other news, my fridge died and it took A LOT of nagging from me to get a new one. It wasn't blowing cold air out so all our food was slowly defrosting. Our apt manager sent out some GE repairman who didn't know what he was doing. He told us to blowdry the coils everyday to defrost them until a new part came in 2 weeks from now. I didn't even think that was the problem to begin with, but I'm no fridge genius. The next morning there was a huge puddle on the floor and still no cold air. I went down the the manager's office in person since she never answers her phone and confronted them about the problem that they didn't think was too important. I told them I want a new fridge or $300 to replace the groceries that I just bought and theat are now going bad. Well, my new fridge is being delivered right now thank goodness. We had blocks of ice keeping our food cool so I think we will only have to replace a couple small things. I HATE INCOMPETENT PEOPLE!!

Grampy Chuck

This is a pic from Wed night when my dad came over for dinner. Dominik stared at him a bit but then gave him some smiles. Grampy brought him a Vtech toy (which I love) and it looks like the dashboard of a car. It has a steering wheel, gear shifter and all sorts of buttons. Dom is a huge fan of the horn. That figures.
So I met Grandma Rosa with Dominik last night since he's spending the weekend with her and as I went to leave he started crying. It's like they know something is going down. I gave him a bunch of kisses and told him I would be back so hopefully he's being a good boy. I will call later today and see how he was over night, hopefully not a fussy guy. It's weird not having him around all of a sudden, but I know he's in good hands and will get spoiled. The plus is I slept all night, woke up at 7 am and feel pretty refreshed. I think I will go for a run when it gets a little lighter outside.
Oh, and in the bad news, they pushed that job back I want to apply for until the 1st part of January. It just keeps getting worse. Supposedly the recruiters were given all available state money so they can use it in a desperate attempt to lure young kids into the army. Great huh? Now I'm stuck at Counterdrug even longer. Guess I better improve the attitude a bit.
Well, today Juan and me are going to go see the new Bourne movie and eat some sushi to start celebrating our anniversary weekend. Tomorrow it's off to Jackpot for the night so I will let you all know how much money I won when I get back! Keep the hopes up!
