SICK GUY

My sweet Dominik has a terrible cold. His poor nose is clogged and he doesn't have much of an appetite. I think he got sick from being at the daycare last week while Juan tried to get him used to his new environment. Tomorrow is supposed to be Dom's first official day by himself, but I may end up staying home from work if he still has a fever and isn't feeling well. He's still a really good baby though even when he's sick and always has a smile as you can see in the pic of Dom and me.
As far as my weight loss goes, I'm up to 8 lbs already. It works great and amazingly enough my desire to eat after dinner is pretty much gone. This morning I ran 4 1/4 miles and felt great. In exactly 1 week I will be running my half marathon with some co-workers so that should be fun, but hopefully I won't croak on the side of the road at mile marker 6.
The alligator pic is from when we stayed in the Anniversary Inn. I thought I would show you all how realistic it looks. Oh and one more thing. I have looked everywhere online for an Aladdin outfit for Dom to wear on Halloween and there's nothing!!! I couldn't believe that no one has one. They have Jasmine, but no Aladdin. I thought Dom would have made the most handsome Aladdin with his dark hair and all but now I have to come up with a new idea. I'm thinking a little indian boy and I will give him a tomahawk. I'm sure he would like that.

ALLOW ME TO VENT

Ok, I need to vent for a moment. This wasn't originally going to be the title of my post, but I just got off the phone with Juan. He got the oil changed on the car and asked how much the 20,000 mile checkup was. It is $350.00!!!! He thinks I can magically pull this much money out of my rear end so he can get the car tuned. I know maintenance is important, but with all the bills we have and loans, it's just not going to happen any time soon. He got mad and hung up and said "fine, I'll do it myself." What this really means is he will put it on his credit card like everything else and not think anything else about it. That also makes me mad because he treats money like its water and we all know that's not the case. Maybe he will learn one day.
Now, back to my original news. In my futile attempt to lose weight, I have joined Weight Watchers. One of my friends has been doing it for a couple months and she has lost 15 lbs. Like me, nothing else has produced good results even though she worked out regularly. It's only $9.00 a week and you have a lot of support from others. I went to my 1st meeting today and it was really great. I think I have finally found something that will work and the best part is, I can still eat what I want as long as I don't go over my daily alotted points. Also, I have been running futher and longer the past 2 weeks than I have in a long time, so I know that will help out too. Hopefully I will be ready for my half marathon that is in a couple weeks.
Guess that's it for now. Dominik is doing great and is still sweet as ever!

DOGS EVERYWHERE!

WEll, I can't remember if I already posted this so here you are. Dominik now says Dog and night, night. It's nice to hear him finally expand his vocabulary. The funny thing is, that every animal is a dog. When he first started saying dog he would point and it really was a dog, but now birds and squirrels are also dogs. It's so cute to see babies learn and I know he will have more to say soon.
Tonight's the night that Juan and I are trying the Mona Lisa fondue restaurant. I'm looking forward to it, but Juan's a little skeptical as he never tries new things. I will give you all the update on how it was later on since I know you're all interested in what I eat.
Also, I just found out that Tony (Juan's bro) and his girlfriend are prego. This is exciting to me because first of all, babies are adorable and also Dominik will have a cousin to play with awhile from now. Oh, I can also repay Tony for all the babysitting he's done by watching his little one when he needs a date night or whatever. THANKS TONY! I will give you plenty more practice with Dominik so you're ready when your little one comes.
Back to Dominik, I got out all of his fall/winter clothes and I didn't realize how many clothes I had bought him. Boy he's spoiled. I guess I would buy stuff and shove it in the closet and then forget about it, so I would buy him more clothes. Needless to say, he's set for the cold weather now. I should probably be more careful about this since babies grow so fast and clothes are expensive, but I am positive that the baby clothes manufacturers make everything so dang cute so you'll spend lots of money. It works on me.
Well, guess I've blabbed on enough. Pics to follow. Have a great weekend everyone and Kelsey, I hope the storms miss you and all is well!

THE COAST DELAYED

Here's a couple of pics from when we went to OR back in July. I know I'm behind, but better late than never. As you can tell, Dominik was pretty excited about being restrained for a picture at the aquarium. He just couldn't stand to sit still for an entire 20 seconds.
Today is officially Juan and my anniversary. We celebrated on Sun though by eating some AWESOME food at this new restaurant called Barbacoa and staying in the Safari Room at the anniversary Inn. Pics of the wildlife will be in my next post since pics take so long to load. Back to the food, I highly recommend this place if you have a few extra dollars to eat out. It's a little pricey, but well worth it. Juan had a bone-in cut of veal over linguine that was delicious and I had duck over a bed of sweet potato risotto. We also had calamari and it was the best I've had. It came with 4 dipping sauces, each delicious. And thanks dad for that gift certificate to Mona Lisa. They are closed on Sundays so Juan and I will try it later this month!!
Other than that stuff, I have drill this weekend and I'm so NOT excited. I think I need to take a few days off to just chill out.
