ALLOW ME TO VENT

Ok, I need to vent for a moment. This wasn't originally going to be the title of my post, but I just got off the phone with Juan. He got the oil changed on the car and asked how much the 20,000 mile checkup was. It is $350.00!!!! He thinks I can magically pull this much money out of my rear end so he can get the car tuned. I know maintenance is important, but with all the bills we have and loans, it's just not going to happen any time soon. He got mad and hung up and said "fine, I'll do it myself." What this really means is he will put it on his credit card like everything else and not think anything else about it. That also makes me mad because he treats money like its water and we all know that's not the case. Maybe he will learn one day.
Now, back to my original news. In my futile attempt to lose weight, I have joined Weight Watchers. One of my friends has been doing it for a couple months and she has lost 15 lbs. Like me, nothing else has produced good results even though she worked out regularly. It's only $9.00 a week and you have a lot of support from others. I went to my 1st meeting today and it was really great. I think I have finally found something that will work and the best part is, I can still eat what I want as long as I don't go over my daily alotted points. Also, I have been running futher and longer the past 2 weeks than I have in a long time, so I know that will help out too. Hopefully I will be ready for my half marathon that is in a couple weeks.
Guess that's it for now. Dominik is doing great and is still sweet as ever!

What the hell is wrong with men??? I got mad when Miguel came home with a $50 oil change bill. I don't know what I would have done if he spent $350 on a car with only 20,000 miles on it.

And here's the thing: your dad is a freaking mechanic. If you really needed a tune-up, I'm sure you could have just asked him. God. I'm pissed off too. That money could have paid for Dom's little gym.

And good luck with the weight watchers. There's got to be a reason why they've been around for so long...

I did weight watchers for a few months last year. I lost 20 lbs in about 3 months. I had to quit going because of the lack of a baby sitter.

Good luck with that.

I suppose you should be congratulated on not killing your husband...

How frustrating. I guess everybody has differing views on how to deal with money, but it gets pretty tricky when the difference is between you and your partner.
Way to go with the weight watchers. I've known a lot of people who have had success with them when nothing else has worked. And the running sounds like it's really improving. You go girl! (she said as she wolfed down her lunch and thought about finding some chocolate:0)
